The Leeuwenkuil Heritage Syrah 2015 is brimming with the concentration of a great vintage. While emphatically world-class, this complex and layered wine is quintessentially Swartland. Shy to start, the nose continues to evolve and invite with florals and white pepper. It oscillates between red and black fruit with a lifted fynbos freshness. The palate shows the same complexity. The ripe fruit is laced with meaty flavours and wonderfully coated tannins. A clear line of acidity keeps the wine focused and fresh and contributes to its long, lingering finish.
